INTRODUCTION
Valthamet Bromide Injection is used to treat pain associated
with smooth muscle spasms. It may be used in cases of dysmenorrhea (painful
menstruation) and for reducing post-operative pain. This injection is also used
to reduce the first stage of labor.
Valthamet Bromide Injection is given by your doctor or nurse.
Let your doctor know about all other medications you are taking as some may
affect, or be affected by this medicine.
The most common side effects are blurred vision,
increased heart rate, dilatation of the pupil, and constipation. Most of these
are temporary and usually resolve with time. Contact your doctor straight away
if you are at all concerned about any of these side effects. Dry mouth may also
occur as a side effect. But, frequent mouth rinses, good oral hygiene,
increased water intake, and sugarless candy may help you. Avoid alcohol intake
while having this medicine as it may worsen your side effects.
Pregnant or breastfeeding women should also
consult their doctor before taking this medicine. Before taking this medicine,
you should let your doctor know if you have liver and kidney problems.

Pain due to smooth muscle spasm
Valthamet Bromide Injection effectively relieves smooth muscle
pain, stiffness, or spasm, thereby improving muscle movement. It helps relieve
pain due to periods (menstrual pain), pain after surgery, stomach pain etc. It
relaxes the muscles and improves your condition. This helps to treat cramps,
pain, bloating, and discomfort.
Valthamet Bromide Injection is given by
a doctor or nurse and should not be self-administered. Take a fiber-rich diet,
avoid oily or spicy food and drink plenty of fluids while taking it to make
sure you stay hydrated. Eventually, it will help you to go about your daily
activities more easily and have a better, more active, quality of life.
Most side effects do not require any
medical attention and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult
your doctor if they persist or if you’re worried about them

Valthamet Bromide Injection is an anticholinergic medication.
It works by blocking the effect of a chemical messenger (acetylcholine),
thereby relaxing the smooth muscles of cervix and intestine.
